Mike Knudson has served on the Harrisburg School Board for over a decade and is a commercial broker at Van Buskirk Companies.
“Over my 12 years on the board, I am proud of how we’ve managed growth while remaining focused on the future,” Knudson says.
Mike was born and raised in Sioux Falls and has two sons. Carson is an HHS graduate and is a senior at the University of South Dakota, and Coy is a 6th grader at North Middle School.
Knudson said he initially ran for the school board because he’s “passionate about helping the Harrisburg School District continue to offer forward-thinking opportunities for students and stay at the forefront of educational excellence.” He finds the most rewarding part of serving in the third largest district in the state to be seeing students thrive through a wide range of learning opportunities and activities.
“Our students, staff, and families make this district what it is—and I’m proud to be a Tiger,” he says, noting that every decision the board makes balances student success with careful, responsible planning for the future of the community.
