Harrisburg School District is proud to recognize Nichole Drexler as the Special Services Staff Member of the Year, honoring her outstanding commitment to students, staff, and families at Liberty Elementary.
As the school’s Technology Integrationist, Drexler’s influence extends far beyond technology support. Colleagues describe her as a servant leader who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure both learners and staff members have what they need to succeed. Whether assisting with classroom technology, helping cover staff absences, supporting student behavior needs, or troubleshooting unexpected challenges, Drexler is known as someone who can always be counted on.
Teachers credit her with helping them effectively integrate technology into their classrooms while empowering students to become confident and capable learners. Her ability to anticipate needs, proactively solve problems, and calmly support others has made her an invaluable member of the Liberty Elementary community.
At the heart of Drexler’s work is her commitment to relationships. She believes students learn best when they feel seen, valued, and connected. In her application materials, she shared the story of a former student who later invited her to be his honored guest at Teacher Appreciation Night, explaining that her classroom experience had positively shaped his school experience. The experience reinforced Drexler’s belief that even small acts of kindness and encouragement can leave a lifelong impact.
Drexler’s collaborative spirit has also helped create innovative opportunities for students. She has worked alongside colleagues and community partners to expand Liberty Elementary’s MakerSpace and robotics programming, helping students engage in hands-on STEM learning through coding, creativity, and teamwork.
Coworkers say Drexler’s positivity, reliability, and willingness to help in any situation have helped shape the welcoming and supportive culture at Liberty Elementary. Her dedication to students and staff, combined with her compassionate approach to education, makes her exceptionally deserving of this recognition.
