Please note the important change regarding participation in our 6–12 Show Choir programs.
Beginning this year, all Show Choir students will be required to have a physical on file using the same forms and process as athletics (attached). This change better ensures we are keeping students safe, healthy, and supported, as Show Choir is a physically demanding activity. This is only required for performers (not for Show Choir crew/technicians).
Because this is a new protocol, our communication timeline is still catching up—but moving forward, this requirement will be shared much earlier so families have ample time to plan in future years.
Completed physical forms should be submitted prior to September 26, 2026, in one of the following ways:
Emailed to the Activities Office at Samantha.Gonzalez@k12.sd.us
Dropped off at the HHS Activities Office on the north side of the high school
Given directly to your student’s Show Choir director

In addition, if you want more information about getting involved in 6-12 Show Choir/Drama/Speech/Debate/Oral Interp, please attend our parent/participation meeting at the HHS Performing Arts Center at 6:00 PM on August 25th.
9-12 Show Choir PERFORMER auditions already took place this past Spring, BUT there is still an opportunity to assist with the 9-12 Show Choir crew/technicians.
6-8 Show Choir will have tryouts during the school year.
6-12 Drama/Speech/Debate/Oral Interp will have sign-up/audition/tech opportunities available for sign-up throughout the year (no physicals are required to participate in these activities).
