It was a fantastic day in the library as we welcomed best-selling author Achut Deng. Achut spoke to students about her book Don't Look Back, which tells of her remarkable journey as a refugee from Sudan to America. Six members of the Harrisburg FCCLA Chapter just recently returned from a visit to Birmingham, Alabama as they attended the FCCLA National Fall Conference. The conference provided FCCLA members with a wealth of incredible opportunities to add to their ultimate journey. Attendees were inspired by keynote speakers, Monti Washington, Joshua Evans, and Brent Camalich, engaged in various youth workshops, watched and learned from the One Small Visit movie, and networked with fellow leaders from across the country. The conference was definitely an Ultimate Leadership Journey for these members in developing potential leadership skills. #TigerProud #CTEWorks

LDE Showcase The Harrisburg FFA will host an LDE Showcase on Thursday, November 16 @ 6:00 pm in the high school H-Wing Hub (Old Freshmen Academy Library). Please enter through the North doors by the Field House. The Showcase will give parents a chance to see what the FFA members have been working so hard on the last few weeks. The Harrisburg Agriculture Mechanics Team competed at the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis November 1-3, 2023. As a team, they placed 10th and received a Gold rating. Team members include: -Owen Murphy - 10th place individual and gold rating. -Kendrick Droppers - 14th place individual and gold rating. -Spencer Enstad - 67th place individual and silver rating. -Erika Starr - 115th place individual and silver rating.
