Inspired by a Mystery Doug episode earlier in the year, the Jr. Kindergarten learners eagerly anticipated this day, which we celebrated on "B" day during our ABC countdown. Thanks to donations of jars, heavy cream, salt, and crackers, we were able to work in teams of 2-3 to create our delicious butter. After shaking the jars for 20-30 minutes, we drained the buttermilk and enjoyed our homemade butter on crackers. It was a fun and exciting day in Jr. K! We practiced important habits of mind, including persistence, teamwork, and responding with wonderment and awe in addition to many different math and science concepts.
