A look at coding during Tech Time. Why include coding into learning? Coding helps build problem-solving skills, think creatively, and practice perseverance. It also strengthens math and literacy connections, encourages collaboration, and introduces learners to the logic and sequencing foundations that support all future STEM learning.
5th graders collaborated in groups to design a mini golf hole, then coded our Sphero BOLT robots to navigate each hole from start to finish.
4th graders worked together to complete a series of challenges that required them to code the Sphero BOLT as a rocket traveling to the moon.
3rd graders used a variety of apps to begin coding simple games on their iPads.
2nd graders are expanding their coding knowledge by creating projects in ScratchJr.
1st graders completed an unplugged activity (no devices) to better understand how sequencing works in coding.
Kindergarteners had fun coding the BeeBot robots to follow a path and land on a specific number.
We will continue to sprinkle coding activities throughout the rest of the school year to reinforce these skills and keep students engaged in hands-on learning.
