Tiger Learning Center

WHAT IS IT?

The Tiger Learning Center is for students who struggle with behavioral issues in school. It is housed at Horizon Elementary School. The program is designed to teach students coping strategies and build a structure into their day that will support them in being successful. Students are transitioned back into the regular classroom over time and eventually back to their home school upon successful completion of the program.

STEPS TO ADMITTANCE

  • All students with behavior concerns should have gone through the TAT process and have a behavior plan in place.

  • All students being considered for TLC must be referred for a Special Education Evaluation prior to being admitted into TLC (currently all students in attendance are on IEP’s)

  • Behavior Specialists, School Psychologists, and Special Education Teachers are contacted and help to collect and monitor data.
