Since 2019, the Freedom Elementary Ukulele Club has given students the chance to try something new, grow their skills, and share music together. What started with 34 students in its first year has grown to 120 learners across 12 clubs—now expanding into guitar, too. 🎶
Tonight, Mrs. Schlarmann and fifth graders Odin, Haley, Maci, Kendra, and Natalya represented the Freedom Ukulele and Guitar Clubs. They shared how the club has shaped their learning and even performed a song for the board!
We celebrate their dedication, teamwork, and the joy of music in our schools. 👏

At tonight’s meeting, the School Board heard from Journey Elementary Principal Sylliaasen and teachers about the school’s culture of kindness. They introduced students who went above and beyond to help new classmates feel welcome, find their way, and build friendships.
