Harrisburg High School held a Culture Fest to honor and celebrate the various cultures represented in our district. This year featured Nicaragua, Jordan, Nepal, Venezuela, Guatemala, Mexico, Liberia, China, Myanmar, Senegal, Congo, African American, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, USA, Vietnam, Ethiopia, and more. Students brought food, clothing, jewelry, candy, music, and their shining personalities to show off the diversity of our district. A great and eye-opening time was had by all! 🌭 Hot dogs! Get your hot dogs here! 🌭 Since 2012, the HSD Elementary Grill-Out has been a much-loved tradition that brings great food and fun to our students each spring. Even as our district has continued to grow, this small-town favorite remains a cherished part of who we are. Led by Child Nutrition Director, Chris Beach, this event has brought the smell of sizzling hot dogs to every elementary school across the district—rain or shine. Today, we fired up the season at Horizon Elementary. It’s a tradition we truly relish each year! 🐾

Our HHS athletes had an incredible time participating in a Unified Sports track meet at Tiger Stadium yesterday afternoon! Competing in the long jump, softball throw, and 50-meter dash, their energy, teamwork, and big smiles made the day unforgettable. 🐾 Unified Sports brings together athletes of all abilities to compete on the same team, building friendships, promoting inclusion, and celebrating what each participant brings to the game. We’re proud to be part of a program that highlights the power of unity through sport. We are #TigerProud! Next up: we’ve been invited to another Unified event at Jefferson High School on May 13—and we can’t wait! 👟💨

We want to make sure that we're offering opportunities that students are excited about and rely on attendance at the meeting and enrollments after the meeting to gauge whether trips should continue, and what the future of our travel program should look like.
