10 Harrisburg FFA members were awarded their State FFA Degree during the 2020 Virtual SD State FFA Convention. CONGRATULATIONS to the following FFA Members: Brenden Blakney Janae Deiterman Richard Dirks Luke Hohwieler Konnor Lewellen Haley Morton Graham Scheaffer Tucker Seamer Kyler Slama Rylee Yoshino The State FFA Degree is the highest degree of membership conferred by the South Dakota FFA Association. The requirements for this degree include: ● Having earned and productively invested at least $1,000, or worked at least 300 hours in excess of scheduled class time, or a combination thereof, in a Supervised Agricultural Experience program. ● Demonstrated leadership ability by performing ten procedures of Parliamentary Law, giving a six-minute speech on an agriculture or FFA-related topic and serving as an officer, committee chairperson or participating member of a chapter committee. ● Have completed at least 25 hours of community service.

During our E-Learning experience, 44 CTE students enrolled in Meal Planning & Culinary Arts/Prostart earned the National ServSafe Food Handler Certification! The National Restaurant Association waived the fee & students completed as part of their coursework in CTE @ HHS

The School Board Election slated for May 5, 2020 will not take place. The School Board had two vacancies which were filled by the two candidates that filed petitions. Mike Knudson and Linda Heerde will be starting their new 3 year terms in July 2020.

A REMINDER: The HSD Child Nutrition Department is modifying it's Grab & Go program to a more convenient method with our new 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙡𝙮 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙗 & 𝙂𝙤 meal schedule! 🍎 Starting the week of May 4th, we will be moving to ᴏɴᴄᴇ ᴀ ᴡᴇᴇᴋ ᴘɪᴄᴋ-ᴜᴘ on WEDNESDAYS ONLY. 🍏 You will be able to pick up 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meals for each child between the ages of 0-18 each Wednesday. ⚠️ To help protect our staff and to make the process smooth please have your trunk or rear door open so staff can place the meals in there.
