Learners in studio Parmenter have been introduced how to locate 6 types of ‘signposts’ within text. These signposts allow our learners to explore the text by finding evidence to support their interpretations and continue to develop their critical thinking skills! It allows them to become responsive, rigorous and independent thinkers and readers! The learners used sticky notes to make their sign posts. #engagedreaders

Mrs. Martin nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday. She was able to help another learner follow Journey expectations. It is great to hear that @ElemJourney learners know and advocate for TIGER expectations.
Parent Teacher Conferences are next week to start off a long weekend.
This young lady was nominated for the #goodnewscalloftheday by Mrs. Jensen. She went out of her way to help another learner count out manipulatives when she noticed them start to get frustrated. Her kindness and ability to be a good friend is something that helps her be a peer leader in our building.

Mr. Larson nominated this young man for the #goodnewscalloftheday. He placed out of an MT according to a placement test but realized he needed to understand the information better during a coaching session. What an awesome example of a learner doing what is best for his learning.
